Neon Moon is an acoustic duo born of a chance encounter and a shared passion for music.
Joseph Chiarello and Janene Cooper first crossed paths in the south Florida open mic scene in 2017. Joe was "retired" from 40+ years as lead singer of his band Justa Head after being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2012. He had regained his health and was going solo when he met Janene who had spent 30 years in healthcare as a critical care nurse with no singing experience.
In 2020 the two friends discovered they could blend their voices with Joe's rich acoustic strumming style . . and suddenly a music chemistry was born!! Neon Moon Duo's unique sound is a blend of rich vocals, warm harmonies and a vibrant, energetic style. Their shared experience draws on iconic covers from the 60s to today . . from Carol King, Dolly Parton, Mamas and Pappas . . to Mylie Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Toby Keith and Ed Sheeran . . REO to REM. With over 250 covers, their songs appeal to audiences of all ages!! Now in their 3rd year, they have played nearly 300 shows in the local south Florida area. Neon Moon Duo is more than just a musical partnership . . they are a testament to the power of chemistry and collaboration . . a truly entertaining show!! |
